So, I grew up in church, it was a great one too. I just never wanted anything to do with God, and I sure as heck wasn’t ready to give up my fleshly ways.
I was a typical teenager. Didn’t care about anyone but myself, all I wanted to do was party. Pathetic right?
Well in August of 2008 my life came to a complete stop. My parents decided that they were sick of Connecticut and wanted to move. My mom said God lead her to Georgia. I thought she was crazy. So we move here, and I thought my life was ending. I became even more rebellious that I already was, and I wanted to make things as hard for my parents as humanly possible. ( I was a pathetic kid..)
My mom knew exactly what I neeed; a huge wake up call from Jesus; and she was right. She was looking for a bible camp for me to go to, but there were so many options, and she didn’t know which one to choose, which one God wanted me to go to.
So a few months later, my cousin comes up from Florida to visit. The last half hour of her stay, she mentions that in a week she will be leaving with her youth group to go to a bible camp in Tenneesee. I swear my mom jumped out of her chair. After a few phone calls, i’m upstairs packing my bags to leave with my cousin and go back to Florida with her.
A week later i’m in TN, with this youth group i’ve never met,insecure as ever, just waiting for something radical to happen.
Let me tell you, something radical DID happen! That week at bible camp was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I got touched by God, and it was the best feeling in the world. For an hour straight, I felt God’s love all around me; it was like he was holding me in His arms. And once I felt that, nothing in the world was worth abandoning Him for.
Ever since then, my life has been completely dedicated to Him. I let got of all my worldy music, friends, tv shows, everything. I am done with being a teenager of the world; done with being lukewarm. I am ready to shake up a generation for Jesus.
