God Knows You All To Well

It its often said that God meets you right where you are. That He knew you even before you were born and that He is always thinking about you. I never knew what that meant until I experienced the real presence of the Lord in my life.

Let me start by saying I LOVE pink. Fuchsia, hot pink to be specific. Its in my hair, on my nails, in my house, covering my walls, everywhere. If it comes in pink I probably have it. And if it doesn’t then I don’t need it. When I got saved last year a leader at my church stressed the importance of having a bible you could read. There are tons of translations of the bible so it’s imperative that you find one that is easy for you to understand. As I only had a dusty King James version with a million thy’s and thou’s in it, I decided to rectify that situation immediately. So I prayed and headed to the nearest Barnes & Noble. This is what I prayed for: a small, hot pink, hard cover, NLT version bible. That’s not too much, right? I was fully aware that God doesn’t care about exterior things. What’s important to Him is that we connect with Him daily and ask Him into all our situations. But because He created us, He understands our human wants and needs. He sees them as an opportunity to speak to us, not a weakness. As a newly saved Christian I was fired up for Jesus and really wanted a hot pink bible I could carry everywhere and read all the time. So I scanned the bookstore for 20 minutes. I found so many different bibles it would make your head spin. I checked shelf after shelf for MY bible. And there, at the very bottom of the very last row, was a hot pink, hard cover, compact NLT bible. I almost cried. God was speaking to me in my language, pink. It was the last one and it went home with me.

Whatever it is, however you learn, God knows. He will use whatever touches you most to reach you. He will come down to your level. Thats how much He cares. I have a friend who loves hip hop. Takes hip hop dance classes, listens to the music, just loves it all. But the church she was attending didn’t play that music and needless to say she was on the fence spiritually. Then one sunday we attended a friends church and I was blown away. The music had the beat of any song on the radio but was all about Jesus. It was amazing. My friend loved it! She felt right at home. We met a girl there that had a message from God to give my friend. We had never seen her before, but from across the room she felt compelled to come talk to my friend. For the first time in her life my friend prayed Jesus into her heart. All she needed was a church that spoke her language. So God gave her a hip hop church.

You don’t have to clean yourself up or change who you are to come to Christ. He already knows you. Come as you are and He will accept you with open arms. Whatever you need to help you on your journey, just ask Him and He will provide. No matter how small or big, just ask. God will meet you right where you are.
