My fiance and I were persuaded to attend church with my sister and her husband in November of 2006. That sermon was directed to me… I broke down into tears and ended up being baptized that day. My fiance was a member of a methodist church and had never been completely submerged so he was baptized with me.
About a week or so later, we found out we were pregnant. After choosing to walk the right path then discovering this, I think it became too much for him and he left. I have not spoken to him since our daughter was born. He has seen and held her only once.
I met a guy and began dating him when my daughter turned two. We dated for about ten months and I really thought he was a Godly man who understood the roles of a relationship and that of men and women in the church. Boy was I ever wrong. He began asking me to move in with him and wanting to know what it would take to get to me to do that. I told him being married after some time is what it takes, but he didn’t seem to be willing to do that. He broke my heart, but I believe this happened to bring me closer to God and to teach me to really hold true to my values. The values God instructs us to live by. As hard as that is sometimes, I’m glad it happened because these men are not what I want to end up with… God showed me that.
