Does God actually hear my prayers?

You prayed. Maybe you prayed hard, at 2am, with everything you had. And then… nothing. So the question is not academic: does God actually hear me?

What the Bible plainly says

"The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles."— Psalm 34:17

Scripture does not hedge on this. God hears. 1 John 5:14 goes further: "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." The question the Bible wrestles with is not whether God hears — it is why the answer does not always come on our clock.

Silence is not absence

Joseph prayed in a prison for years before the palace. Hannah wept in the temple so hard the priest thought she was drunk — and her answer became the prophet Samuel. David filled the Psalms with "How long, O Lord?" and still called God faithful. The waiting room is crowded with people God answered.

Three things silence does not mean

It does not mean no. Sometimes it means not yet. It does not mean He is angry. Romans 8 says nothing separates you from His love. It does not mean you prayed wrong. Romans 8:26 says the Spirit translates even the prayers you cannot put into words.

Ask the people who waited

The strongest evidence is not an argument — it is a testimony. The people on this site prayed through silence that lasted months and years, and then watched God move. Read a few in the sidebar. If you are in the waiting room right now, hold on: somebody's testimony is proof the ceiling is not the end of your prayer.
