Strip away the stained glass and the jargon, and the Bible's answer to "how do I get right with God?" is shockingly simple. Simple enough that a criminal dying next to Jesus managed it with one sentence (Luke 23:42–43).
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."— Romans 3:23
All. The churchgoer and the atheist, the volunteer and the felon. Nobody's résumé clears the bar — which is oddly the most level playing field on earth. Salvation starts by dropping the act that we're fine.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."— Romans 6:23
Wages are earned; gifts are given. The cross is God paying a bill He didn't owe because we owed a bill we couldn't pay. The resurrection is the receipt — proof it worked.
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."— Romans 10:9
No ladder to climb, no probation period, no cleaning up first — the cleaning up is His department, and He's good at it. Believe it, and say it.
"Jesus, I'm done pretending I've got this. I believe You died for me and rose again. Forgive me, come into my life, and be Lord of it. I'm Yours. Amen."
The words aren't magic — the trust behind them is everything. If you meant that, Luke 15:10 says heaven just threw a party over you. Welcome home.
