In Acts 26, on trial before a king, Paul tells his story in three movements you can copy:
1. Before. What was life like? Be honest about the mess — the addiction, the emptiness, the anger, the pew you sat in while feeling nothing. The dark backdrop is what makes the spark visible.
2. How. What actually happened? A prayer at rock bottom, a stranger's word, a hospital room, a slow two-year thaw. Specifics beat generalities: "March, in my car, in the Walmart parking lot" preaches better than "one day."
3. After. What's different now? Not perfect — different. Peace where panic lived. Sobriety counted in years. A marriage that laughs again. Name the change.
Church jargon ("washed in the blood" confuses people who need it most — say what it means). Preaching (your story is the sermon). The pressure to be dramatic — quiet testimonies about God meeting an ordinary person in an ordinary kitchen are often the ones that wreck people, because they're believable.
